Cold showers, a rumbling tank, a pilot light that won't stay lit, or a tankless unit throwing an error code — a failing water heater rarely fixes itself, and most failures give warning signs first. Our Underwood technicians diagnose both tank and tankless systems on the first visit.
Whatever brand or configuration you have, our Underwood, IA team has likely serviced it before.
A total loss of hot water gets priority routing since it affects daily life immediately.
We quote the visit and the probable repair range upfront, then confirm the exact price after diagnosis.
We won't recommend a costly repair on a unit that's already past its expected service life — you'll get an honest comparison.
From a simple pilot light relight to a full heating element replacement, our technicians carry the parts most repairs need on the truck.
Failed heating elements, faulty thermostats, and leaking T&P valves are diagnosed and repaired on standard tank units.
Tankless systems need descaling and flow sensor cleaning periodically — we service both the repair and that maintenance.
We test the thermocouple and gas valve together, since a weak pilot can point to either component.
Sediment buildup at the tank bottom reduces efficiency and causes rumbling; a flush and inspection often restores performance.
We isolate the source of a water heater leak first, since it's not always the tank itself failing.
A total loss of hot water gets same-day priority dispatch, especially in colder months.
Tell dispatch the brand, fuel type, and symptoms if you know them — it helps route a technician with the right parts.
Our technician arrives with common repair parts for both tank and tankless systems already on the truck.
The unit is diagnosed, and you'll get a clear repair price — or an honest replacement recommendation if the unit's beyond economical repair.
Once hot water is restored and tested, you get a warranty on both the part and the labor.

We serve Underwood proper and nearby Underwood, IA communities on both tank and tankless systems.
As a general guide, a unit past 10-12 years with a major component failure often makes more sense to replace.
Yes, our Underwood technicians are trained and equipped for both fuel types.
Rumbling is a common early warning sign of sediment buildup, worth addressing before it worsens.
Straightforward repairs are usually same-visit; a full tank replacement takes longer and is scheduled separately.
Tankless systems need different maintenance than tank units, and our technicians are trained specifically for that.
Not always — sometimes it's a fitting or the T&P valve, not the tank itself, and those are repairable.
